More Sahara Beck More Sahara Beck

Offering a refreshingly down-to-earth, eclectic folk release, Sahara Beck doesn't rely on heartstring-tugging melodrama. Instead, she favours straightforward, predominantly acoustic compositions with restrained electric instrumentation. This unassuming style and ethos is referred to in the closing line of Daisy: "I am simple but happy." This track and Bang Bang Bang do stray towards the emotive, but they feel sincere rather than contrived. Stand-out, up-tempo opener, C'Mon Man You're Dead, is a stripped-back track with an almost horror-country vibe, enhanced by Beck's solid, unpretentious vocals. Meanwhile, Madam impresses with its rhythmic, exotic feel.
