Album Review: Romare - Love Songs: Pt Two

StarStarStarHalf Star

"A focus on beats that roll from funk to disco and house with even a little rave thrown in for good measure."

Romare romances us hard with this tasty selection of ten tracks: beats that slip and slide from an innocent peck on the cheek to getting a little dirty house on to sleazy effect.

Je T'aime isn't Gainsbourg, so while lacking breathy eroticism it's a stomping house tune with plenty of funk attitude. The basis of these tunes are sampled loops, over which synths and an assortment of instruments are layered. The production is thick with a focus on beats that roll from funk to disco and house with even a little rave thrown in for good measure.
