Our latest instalment of the guest mix series from the Purple Sneakers show on FBi Click spotlights none other than our best buds over at I Oh You.
Here at PURPLE SNEAKERS, we like to shine a light on kick-ass music - particularly that of the homegrown variety. Apart from the artists themselves that supply the musical goods, we also like to give props to some of the dudes behind the scenes - the gardeners of the homegrown crops.
Our latest instalment of the guest mix series from the PURPLE SNEAKERS SHOW ON FBI CLICK spotlights none other than our best buds over at I OH YOU. A joint effort from equal parts Melbourne and Sydney, the I OH YOU bois (Johann and Scott) have been major players in the last few years when it comes to the burgeoning Aussie scene.
Ever heard of DMA's? How about VIOLENT SOHO? Does a little band by the name of DZ DEATHRAYS ring a bell? Well if you said 'fuck ya' to all of the above, well you have I OH YOU to thank for that, my friend.

Self described as an 'Independent record label and promoter from Australia just trying to keep the gas on,' I OH YOU have certainly become a force to reckoned when it comes to cutting-edge sounds handpicked straight from our backyard - and they're showing no signs of slowing down (for instance, check out the pipes on their latest signing MONTGOMERY).
As well as being a label, promoter and host of killer parties the country over, I OH YOU are also battle-hardened DJ's, mastering over their own 'Take Me To The Hospital' mixtape series amongst playing sets at a range of events and festivals - clearly, these guys do it all.
With all this heat surrounding these two fellows, it was a swift no-brainer to get them into the studes (see: studio) to crank out a little mixeroo (see: mix). The following half an hour of sound they delivered was a cool, handpicked selection of the finest party tunes out and much more. Taking a darker, heavier approach to their usual 'Take Me To The Hospital' series, I OH YOU has come through with the goods yet again. Peep the mix and tracklist below:
