Sydney electro three piece, ISLND, are an outfit who carry with them a very distinctive sound. Taking influence from 70s psych-rock to 80s funk, their sound is of high impact and definitely warrants your attention. Need an example? Just listen to their brand new single, 'Just Wanna Be Loved', featuring the vocals of Laura Noir (Tasty Lopez).
A scurry of high-pitched droplets sporadically rain over the floor of 'Just Wanna Be Loved'. After the lyrical point is made clear, we're hurried onto a frenetic dance floor with a superbly high heart rate; contrary to the pockets of softer beats, drawn out synth blankets and the returning sun-shower we initially enjoyed to cushion this crazy-fast spotlight of sound.
Revisiting both an alerting moment of boundless energy to a more relaxed fleet of synths, the power that drives, 'Just Wanna Be Loved' is clearly a reaction manifested by the complimentary mixed bag of emotion when considering the title of the track.
