Townsville-born and Gold Coast-based producer Health Club definitely knows how to transform a tune. His timing and technique just feel perfect and he knows a good groove when he hears it, so it's no surprise that when he heard Kilter's track 'They Don't Know Us', he saw remix potential.
The original track is quite gritty, heavy synths that crunch underneath a light vocal. This is the kind of track you'd here at the club, mainly because you just can't help but dance to it and sing along. Kilter always seems to release a variety of tracks that are club ready, but Health Club's remix has taken 'They Don't Know Us' out of the club, and into an afternoon pool sesh.
Opening with a soft tune and distorted vocals, you can already tell that Health Club's remix is going to be sweet and smooth. The beat picks up and airy synths begin to dance around the beat and vocals. The song progresses with the greatest of ease and feels almost organic, nothing feels forced and nothing feels exaggerated. It's just cool.
Health Club has been off the radar for a little while, but here's hoping that his 'They Don't Know Us' remix will be the start of much more great music that is to come.
