Live Review: Premiere: Hannah Sands creates Neo-Soul bliss with single, 'Where Do We Go'

Hannah Sands is a slowly growing name is Australia's soul and pop scenes. Ever since introducing her work to audiences last year with her single, 'Choices' she's been grabbing attention left right and centre, with a catalogue of music now that feature soulful grooves, rich melodies and narrative driven songwriting. It's no surprise that the Brisbane / Meanjin based artist has returned once again, with a mood fuelled, infectious single, titled 'Where Do We Go'.

The track features a minimal yet precise arrangement. The track is led by its rhythmic groove, powered by a gorgeous percussion run and a muted bass line. Above it, Hannah Sands constructs emotions that drape across the track. Her jazz infused vocals beautiful present the question, 'Where Do We Go From Here', leading to a gorgeous crescendo of spiralling vocal harmonies and chords.

On the single, Sands stated, “‘Where Do We Go' is a neo-soul groove about navigating the fights that don't matter and the making up that comes later. Taking you through a journey of classic songwriting with a light groove and vocally rich delivery, this song is exactly what you need.”
