Polographia has just put out their Friends EP with Sweat it Out, and to celebrate we are going to cover the track 'Hurricane' so you all can get a taste of the wonderful sound that the duo have. This track is done with the Brisbane duo Goodbye Moon.
While Polographia has a habit of incorporating retro sounds in their other tracks like 'Sly' and 'Feels Alright', 'Hurricane' manages to keep a more modern sound while still feeling organic and full of emotion. Starting with a simple chord progression and adding in a plucked synth bass along with with vocals on top create an atmosphere that is separate from most other Polographia songs.
The addition of Goodbye Moon has a clear effect on the track. The Brisbane duo are in their element when it comes to slow paced emotional songs that leave a tantalising impression on the listener, so the collaboration between the two artists is perfect for this track.
The lyrics on 'Hurricane' are melancholy and deal with imagery of feeling helpless, weak and sad. The emotion of the lyrics is portrayed in the delivery and matches the production in tone. This track closes the Friends EP, and it makes for an impact filled ending to the project by contrasting the upbeat funk of the early songs with some raw emotion and deep lyrics.
