PlastikmanRespected old school producer Richie Hawtin revives his Plastikman moniker after 11 years with an album of new material that was presented live at a special one-off event at the Guggenheim. Hawtin delivers a collection of dark true school minimal techno that brings together 808 and 909 drum machines, 303 acid and sombre synth pads. Hawtin's production is pristine and designed for use on a massive PA where it has the opportunity to create a completely immersive listening experience without necessarily bothering about dancefloor devastation. There's much to love about this album but essentially Plastikman's song remains the same.
