Fuck yeah. In an incredible year for female rock'n'roll (think Savages, Deap Vally, Courtney Barnett), Pins could take the cake. Four women from the exploding Manchester scene, stripped back heavy guitar riffs, vocal shrieks and a bass line that won't quit (see the title track for example) show Pins will take on all-comers and come out on top. Despite Girls Like Us being their debut record, the passion inherent in each song is obvious – the direction steady and the drum beat relentless. Someone please get them to Australia and let them pillage us in person.
