Periphery Profile
With Clear, Periphery prove that they haven't been resting on their laurels since last release, Periphery II. With a track written by each member this could easily have ended up a dog's breakfast; however, there's surprisingly solid structure to be found here. The hallmarks of the band's sound remain firmly entrenched detuned djent guitars (Zero), polyrhythmic drumming (Extraneous) and vocals that soar and destroy (Feed The Ground), but each song has been meticulously crafted and sits nicely within the framework of the album. Clear is a good 30-minute listen for those requiring eight-string prog-guitars up in their ear holes.
