"From there it's a slow, downward spiral."
After gaining massive success with their 2000 single Last Resort, Papa Roach's uninspired ninth studio album is average at best as they attempt to stay relevant.
Break The Fall kicks off the album with soft violins, before heavy guitar riffs accompany vocalist Jacoby Shaddix's killer rap metal verses on the proceeding title track. From there it's a slow, downward spiral with Periscope, a soft duet with Skylar Grey that feels slightly too mainstream, while Sunrise Trailer Park unsuccessfully tries to mix hip hop with rock. The genre fluctuation just doesn't work, instead making their latest offering sound like they are trying too hard to conform.
