“How should I start/I guess straight in”. And so Palms begin, rising from the ashes of Red Riders and taking on board some Royal Headache alum to form a new fuzzed-out sex bomb of a band to enjoy. The lyrical content is stinging, but the album struggles to tell a story. Step Brothers is the sound of breaking up, but clearly with bandmates as opposed to girls. There's an air of pretending to be sad, singing the sad words that need to be said, while actually feeling happy with the sounds created by a new relationship.
