"He invited everyone from the crowd up and the stage opened up to the dancefloor."
Following Cassius Select, Sports warmed up the night, spinning Hayden James' new track Just A Lover and the latest Missy Elliott track WTF (Where They From). The crowd had just started to settle in for the night, despite the freezing temperature outside almost mimicking that of a Russian winter. Sydney performance artist, singer, songwriter and dancer Gussy followed, dressed in high heels, fishnet underwear, knee-high snake skin printed socks and a black tee, exuding a heck of a lot of confidence and a fearless kind of energy. As well as singing to the crowd, he was also taking care of the beats, and dancing (in heels, remember), to a slightly confused crowd of people, looking on with part curiosity, part admiration.
Melbourne electronic/R&B act Oscar Key Sung stepped out wearing three-quarter pants, a heavily oversized white tee printed with kittens, a pair of Timberlands, a folded pink beanie and an elbow pad. He played some new material and invited a few lucky female dancers from the crowd up on stage to freestyle dance while he sung and played music off his keyboard. About halfway through his set, he performed one of his most recent releases, Hands, showcasing that signature breathy falsetto working across a combination of musical genres from pop, to R&B, hip hop and electronica.
Key Sung also performed the sweet, pop-infused R&B track Holograms, off his 2014 EP of the same name, before Inside Job. He ended his set with crowd favourite dance-focused gem All I Could Do. He invited everyone from the crowd up and the stage opened up to the dancefloor, before he returned to the stage to wrap up the night with an exclusive DJ set.
