"Weird and wonderful."
Faceless And Tired is the first taste of the synth-washed quasi-electronica found within Omar Rodriguez-Lopez's weird and wonderful solo album A Lovejoy.
This album is unrelenting until the pace change and orchestral throes of I Bet He'd Like That halfway in. Following track Transparent proves to be wicked, twisted and bent while maintaining a neon aesthetic. Still Not Breathing is an alluring trip-hop instrumental and Nobodies is a short-but-sweet lullaby. Meanwhile, Left For Dead is a psychedelic interlude bridging into the epic 12-minute conclusion Tlaquepaque, which shares many parallels with Blackstar from the late David Bowie's final record.
