"It's as quiet as it is magnificent."
When you're confronted with a mood piece like Parallels, it's easy to dismiss it as pedestrian; white noise masquerading as high art.
Nosaj's pedigree is known to us all, but it's difficult to match up the man who brought so much violent, paranoid bombast to records like NoCanDo's Jimmy The Lock, with the host of this record, who has obviously chowed down on a monstrous chill pill. Sister is a triumph; at once introspective and optimistic. U G is a little more bouncy and present; worldly, unlike the otherworldly jams that surround it. Ignore this one at your peril, it's as quiet as it is magnificent.
