Album Review: Niko & Vinz - Black Star Elephant

Save for Ylvis’ The Fox and A-ha’s Take On Me, it’s fair to say Norwegian music hasn’t really made much of an international dent.

Nico & Vinz are working on changing that. With a distinctly African bent of breathy vocals and great counterpointing rhythms, particularly present in tunes like My Melody, Imagine and People, you’ll likely have heard their Am I Wrong around the traps. The ‘can’t put your finger on but really grows on you’ style of that single is all over the album. Rich and happy, listen while swaggering down a road somewhere.
