Tame Impala aka Kevin Parker has turned his song 'One More Year' into an 18-minute sonic journey.
Last month, NTS Radio announced an absolutely massive 24-hour fundraising event for The Global Foodbanking Network. Called Remote Utopias, NTS tapped over fifty names for the event which included everything from NTS residents like Four Tet jumping on board alongside a guided meditation from Erykah Badu, exclusive one off shows from Skrillex and Weyes Blood and many, many more. Now, we're being treated to a steady feed of exciting throwbacks to the incredible day so we can relive some of the highlights.
Just last week, we received a new mix from Bicep which saw the duo move away from the dancefloor and into more ambient sounds, and now we've been gifted a very special rework from none other than Tame Impala.
Reworking the opening track from Kevin Parker's latest album, The Slow Rush, 'One More Year' has been turned into an 18-minute odyssey that's been described as a "balearic house reimagining" by NTS. They also proclaimed Kev as the "prince of psychedelia" which we're absolutely here for as well.
Kevin Parker has been keeping busy during this period of isolation, having recently appeared on Stephen Colbert with an innovative performance of 'Is It True', as well as being a guest on Song Exploder and sharing a live performance of Tame Impala performing at Coachella in 2019.
