It truly is the gift that keeps on giving. FLUME's 'The Difference' featuring none other than TORO Y MOI was already an iconic pairing, and the song has had quite a life since its March release including becoming a meme and going viral on TikTok. More recently, the song was gifted a very special remix courtesy of fellow icon Jon Hopkins, which was then followed up with a beautiful claymation video. Now, the pioneering producer has shared a couple of other remixes, including not one but two from one of our favourites, Willaris. K.
In an Instagram post, Willaris. K revealed that he felt "honoured" to have been asked to remix the song, and was so excited he actually created two remixes. He couldn't decide which one to go with, so he and the whole team just went ahead and released both which is lucky for us as they are both equally stellar cuts.
Described by Willaris. K as "Ascent and Descent", the remixes explore two sides of the original. From the uplifting, propulsive and anthemic "remix" to the expansive, deep and swelling dub, Willaris. K's production skills are once again on full display as he well and truly rises to the occasion.
These two remixes come hot on the heels of Willaris' latest release, 'Chapel' featuring WaveIQ, and his most recent EP, LUSTRE. It's also a very welcome addition to his catalogue as we eagerly await LUSTRE's companion EP, FULL NOISE, out later this year.
