Caroline Polachek has released a brand new remix of her glorious cover of The Corrs' 'Breathless', courtesy of frequent collaborator Danny L Harle.
Last year, Caroline Polachek released a glorious cover of The Corrs' 'Breathless'. She'd teased it at live shows in the past, and the Caroline Polachek hive had been waiting in the hope that we might've received an official cut until she finally delivered, releasing the Danny L Harle-produced rework as part of her Standing At The Gate remix album in late 2020. Now, frequent collaborator and friend Harle has stepped up to rework his own production, unleashing a nightcore remix of the track to take it into new territory.
Sounding like vintage Harle, he absolutely delivers on this remix. Pitched up vocals from Polachek meet a skittering drum line and rushing atmospherics, swirling into an emotive, glitchy, explosive storm to leave you just as the title suggests. It's yet another example of why Harle and Polachek remain a formidable creative pairing, with the former working on the latter's stunning 2019 album, Pang. Polachek also joined Harle on his recent Harlecore album as DJ Ocean, proving there is still so much for the pair to give.
2019's Pang saw Polachek enter a new creative era, and delivered much loved alt-pop anthems 'So Hot You're Hurting My Feelings' and 'Door'. She performed 'So Hot...' on Jimmy Kimmel at the very start of 2020, and took to KEXP last year as well to perform stripped back versions of her new songs. Live footage of the tour Polachek had just commenced prior to the pandemic looked absolutely stunning, so let's hope it's not too long before she gets that back up and running. Caroline Polachek recently performed the cover on The Late Late Show with James Corden, taking viewers into the visceral world of Pang with a flawless rendition.
