"Plenty of young guns for hire here with fire in their bellies and something to prove."

New Gen is a vehicle dreamed up by XL to give exposure to a new crop of up-and-comers.

Ostensibly a compilation featuring the likes of Bonkaz, 67, A2, Tiggs Da Author, Avelino and Kojey Radical, this longplayer has been curated and sequenced to have the consistent feel of an artist album. Given the names we are throwing around here this album exists in a pretty relaxed space defined by chilled trap, grime and contemporary R&B. Plenty of young guns for hire here with fire in their bellies and something to prove. Ray BLK adds a feminine touch and stands out from the pack.
