Album Review: My Echo - My Echo

"Armed with a slight blues groove and some cheeky punk elements, the EP occasionally growls and swaggers without drilling the point."

This troupe of local rockers should quickly endear themselves. Powered by the gruffly harmonious vocals of singer Brenton Perry, this high octane release consists of sweaty singalong numbers with clear hints of The Living End in their easy Aussie rock melodies. Armed with a slight blues groove and some cheeky punk elements, the EP occasionally growls and swaggers without drilling the point. This proves the case with the smart, speedy bass hook of single Black Water Blues, which anticipates a raucous, upbeat chorus. They play The Loft, Warrnambool, 9 May; Edinburgh Castle Hotel, 10 May.
