While retreading another band’s songs barely two decades old might seem like a bit of a strange move for Anthrax’s Scott Ian, the truth is that Mother Superior never quite gained the respect they deserved.
Beefed-up by the star-power of Fate’s Warning and White Zombie personnel, the album gives tunes from across the band’s career a heavier tone. The necessity of this to fans is negligible, but it may be a good starting point for those interested in exploring Mother Superior’s catalogue, even if a few tunes sound a bit too similar to one another.
