Album Review: Misery Signals - Absent Light

So it's here. Album number four from Misery Signals, an album you probably didn't think would ever happen. Thankfully it did, and it's every bit the worthy successor to the band's lauded 2008 record Controller. With a few tracks up front to show you how much the band's matured, everything really clicks by Carrier; the aggression, the dynamism, the catchy post-Gothenburg guitar jams. From there, there's hardly a moment to breathe for the rest of the album, and Absent Light becomes a jagged, melodic, unpredictable prog-metalcore rollercoaster that'll have listeners demanding another go around.
