Album Review: Minatures - EICV7” No. 73

Delivering a gentle dose of ‘90s-inspired alt.rock, this mini EP features two wholly gratifying tracks suitable for lowly lit, introspective bedroom sessions. Shaded with angelic, wavering singing, shoegaze opener Form Into Soft & Wild cushions slowly executed percussion with soft, ringing guitar tones. Annemarie Duff’s sweetly layered vox carry the melody through buzzing distortion, gradually becoming more pronounced. Another fluid, romantic offering, moreish follow-up Once Alive Wants fuses subtle, Bollywood-inspired beats and vocal samples into an airy garage-pop track. They play at Evelyn Hotel on 16 Jul.
