Album Review: Midge Ure - Fragile

StarStarStar

"A new album of original songs for the first time in ten years."

The man who brought us ‘80s hit, Vienna, and the music for Do They Know It’s Christmas is back with a new album of original songs for the first time in ten years.

Fragile relies on Ure’s love of synthesisers and dark, brooding melodies to get his point across. On Dark, Dark Night he collaborates with Moby to create an interesting, poignant track as good as his best work with Ultravox. Are We Connected takes a leaf out of the Depeche Mode songbook, using a simple chorus up against a heavy bank of synthesisers.
