Fringe: Space Orchestra Plays to Bugs Bunny Cartoons

While experiencing an “orchestra” perform a live soundtrack to projections of Warner Brothers cartoons may sound like a brilliant idea, in this case, the reality fell painfully short of expectations. Thrash metal orchestra Phantom Panda Power Wizard Master Smasher’s interpretations of classic Bugs Bunny and Road Runner clips proved as entertaining as the group’s name is memorable. Heavy, chugging guitars and crashing cymbals dominated, the more subtle, intricate sound effects the cartoons are famous for lost in the mix, all but killing the comedic element.
