Album Review: Melanie De Biasio - No Deal Remixed

Years ago, as a camp counsellor, I’d often employ a series of questions to challenge kids who questioned everything: Does this need to be asked? Do I already know the answer? And so forth.

The same screening process should be applied to remix albums. Does last year’s perfectly fragile No Deal need to be oomphed-up? No. Mark “Eels” Everett’s debut remix of I Feel You is mercifully understated but Seven Davis Junior’s take on No Deal and Jonwayne’s With All My Love is the peak of the café couture detritus on display here.
