StarStarHalf Star

More Mariah Carey Mariah Carey Profile

Does the world need a new album from Mariah Carey? Miguel's touch on #Beautiful makes for the only song that sounds new to the Carey repertoire. In contrast, guest rappers Whale and Nas make placeholder contributions, and R. Kelly's guest spot sounds like an episode of Trapped In The Closet. The album seems like a meme of Carey's personality, from the album title to the ridiculous amount of slippery vocals layered on Camouflage. These songs seem to only exist for the sexualised music videos that will accompany them.
