Album Review: Mangelwurzel - Gary

The debut LP from garage freak train Mangelwurzel naturally treads both order and chaos.

Evoking the marred tenacity of krautrock legends Can, Gary is an accomplished and noisy testament to the six-piece's unique range. Fishy Fry, IOU and Everybody's Friend demonstrate a strong pop sensibility, while the structure-fucked jams of the title track, Baby Pie and Odyssey excite and challenge in equal measures. It's the blasphemous and wonderful aberration we all expected, and a whole lot more.
