Album Review: Madball - Hardcore Lives

Although Madball haven't released a truly great album since 2005's Legacy, none of their post-reformation material has been anything less than solid. Hardcore Lives continues the streak with 15 cuts of razor-sharp NYHC occasionally infused with a glorious street-punk edge (check the likes of Doc Marten Stomp for further proof). Frontman Freddie Cricien adds the soul with his patented defence of the scene's redemptive powers and earnest musings on faith and family. Madball have been causing havoc for 25 years and remain as vital to hardcore now as they were when they unleashed Set It Off.
