Finally, a brand of cheery, adolescent-centric pop-punk that doesn't make you wanna puke (and/or roll your eyes with smug satisfaction because your tastes have matured).
In Less Than Sober, the stronger of the two tracks, Calum Newton's delightfully whiny vocals carry a wormy, garage melody, thickened exuberantly by the chorus harmonies. The poppier Blood Clot still has its charms, including shambolic guitar lines and cartoonish brattiness. Either way, their scuzz-laden hooks and slapdash lyrics will make you wish Lunatics On Pogosticks were around when you were a teenager. They play Revolver, 19 Sep.
