Album Review: Low Fly Incline - Vinnie The Rune

These Melburnians tick all the boxes in this solid offering

Low Fly Incline summon up a big, convincing sound, especially considering they’re a two-piece.

Their rough riffs exude a deep, penetrating fuzz, propelled by frontman Tarek Smallman’s warm, scratchy vocals. While Undertow pares back the weighty rock’n’roll aesthetic to some extent, allowing its understated, brooding melody to puncture the band’s grinding guitars, the enormous, woolly bass line of The Witch really demands attention. These Melburnians tick all the boxes in this solid offering, illustrating the potential strength and breadth of local rock. They play at Cherry Bar, 1 Aug and Yah Yah’s, 8 Aug.
