Antipodean label Soothsayer have just signed Sydney's Love Deluxe, accompanied by his astounding debut single, 'Cool Breeze Over The Mountains'.
When SOOTHSAYER first introduced themselves, instantly we knew something special had surfaced. A label just shy of two years old, experienced head honchos Chris Rigney (Greco Roman), Tig Higgins (Sugar Mountain festival director) and Zac Kostos (Let Them Eat Cake festival director) are proven tastemakers from the reflection of this growing entity.
An Antipodean roster boasting releases and signings from ALTA, Dro Carey and Sam Weston, Soothsayer have heightened our gratitude with the signing of Sydney's Love Deluxe. Already in complete awe, drop your jaw to his debut single, 'Cool Breeze Over The Mountains'.
The generosity of a piano's keys loosely flood the space, as each note falls on top of its subsequent. As soon as the dutiful snare makes its presence known, we're instantly teleported to an earlier era, with our arrival adorned in whimsical outfits from prolific European fashion designers. With our enigma comes style, an expression flexed in the guise of varietal focal energies that dance over the funk and disco patterns to philosophise the song.
Thanks to Lost Art, archival footage of 20th Century runway models elegantly resonate with the dusty, lo-fi sound recording; collectively retained proper as they inhabit volumes of covers to Love Deluxe appropriated fashion magazines.
