"She still has that strong and righteous tone capable of soaring notes as well as conveying more intimate heartache."

More Loretta Lynn More Loretta Lynn

This is the first album in over a decade for the legendary country music singer and it finds her surveying a life in music with new versions of classics such as Fist City and Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven, covers and new duets with Elvis Costello and Willie Nelson.

Lynn sounds in surprisingly strong voice given that she is now in her '80s. She still has that strong and righteous tone capable of soaring notes as well as conveying more intimate heartache. This is something of a late career exercise, possibly a farewell statement, and in that sense it's a fine parting gift to fans of Loretta Lynn and country music in general.
