"An unapologetic and powerful release."

It’s amazing the deep fallout that can come from something seemingly sweet and simple, but that’s just what you get from Little May’s second album, Blame My Body. The ghost-folk duo make an impression with gentle indie beats, light guitars, and cutthroat lyrics in what is an unapologetic and powerful release.

Album opener Lover wastes no time in attacking a harsh subject with words that hold deep wounds. It bops along nice and cruisey though, beautiful like a flower whose petals gently curl back to expose the strength within. And much of the album follows suit.

Gentle as Apples is, its story of redemption and self-truth carries a bittersweet sentiment over more textured instrumentals. Velvety vocals and cool percussion are the hooks that’ll maintain your focus throughout Blame My Body, invoked by the beautiful and the brutal power of Little May.

Little May have a powerful method of storytelling that, combined with such an experimental approach to sound and textures, means it's not difficult to get lost in the wonderful intricacies of their world.
