Live Review: ICYMI: What So Not delivers earth-shattering remix of Run The Jewels 'JU$T'

What So Not has been tapped by none other than Run The Jewels to remix their politically charged heater, 'JU$T', taken from their 2020 album 'RTJ4'.

It's 2021, and we're going hard from the very start it seems with the release of a booming new remix thanks to What So Not. The producer has been tapped by none other than Run The Jewels to take over 'JU$T', one of the many highlights on their critically acclaimed 2020 album, RTJ4 — and he has not disappointed.

Maintaining the original vocals of both El-P and Killer Mike as well as the iconic guest features of Pharrell Williams and Zack De La Rocha of Rage Against The Machine, this version of 'JU$T' is fittingly epic. Complete with bouncing and booming bass lines, shifting and clashing beats and ambitious sound design from What So Not, showing once again he's always up for rising to the occasion and is prepared to leave it all on the table to deliver a bombastic, thumping heater worthy of the politically charged heater.

What So Not said of the remix, "For me, as a producer, Run The Jewels are one of the most exciting groups out there. Starting as a bootleg, I was honoured to get the nod to put this record out, not only with RTJ, but also my childhood heroes Zack and Pharrell."

RTJ4's early release was one that was met with widespread critical and fan acclaim. Released during worldwide protests against systemic racism and racialised police brutality, RTJ4 proved the duo still has plenty to say and are more fearless than ever. Listen to the What So Not remix below:
