Sydney electronic duo TWIN CAVERNS pride themselves on making soundscapes you can get lost in, and their latest track 'Pyramid' is a beautifully dreamy and hazy example of this. Taken from their forthcoming EP, this has got us very excited indeed to see what is next to come from the pair!
A combination of nimble finger plucking guitar strings with thumping kick drums and crisp snare beats over warm synth chords open the track, before the stunning vocals of Lou Millar cry out. Using incredible imagery, Millar drives the song with her voice, before the production of Michael Macias takes centre stage.
Demonstrating great skill, 'Pyramid' is intricately layered as Macias adds to the soundscape. Borrowing from a variety of genres and influences, the song swells as it floats along. The pair feed off each other, playing to each other's strengths as the song exposes the fragility in both the vocals and production.
As the track evolves into a searing guitar solo, and Millar's voice truly soars, the song completely takes over as the soundscape continues to swell. Delicate and graceful, but also quite powerful and emotive, 'Pyramid' is a meticulously created track that you can easily immerse yourself in.
'Pyramid' is taken off Twin Caverns' forthcoming Glass Balloon EP which is set to be released April 8th. If it's anything to go by, Glass Balloon is going to be one incredible release!
