19 year old newcomer Tunji Ige brings us his new 13 track album 'the love project' blending all realms of hip hop to create something incredible.
You would never think from the brilliance and quality of this new album 'The love project' that it was written and produced by a 19 year old sophomore from his dorm room, just as a part time project on the side of his studies. Tunji Ige is the new name to watch out for.
The quick ascent of his career came off the back of 'Day 2 Day' from which followed remixes by MICHAEL CHRISTMAS and iLOVEMAKONNEN. His idea behind the project was to simply write about his experiences, no gimmicks, just use "teenage angst, heart break, and common issues of a young black teenager in 2014 and juxtapose these themes with a gritty, street hip-hop album." Check out the 13 track album below.
A lot of albums only appeal to one audience, this is what Tunji wanted to challenge, and with this he incorporates the different realms of hiphop, and he's nails it. From the aggression of 'Slow dance' to the smooth melodies of 'Pocketed lighter' each song offers a little something different, projecting different emotions from his life. He'll be making an appearance at Webster Hall in NYC on December 10th, it's not one to miss.
