Live Review: Triple One release new single, 'COME OVER' alongside regional tour dates

Genre bending supergroup Triple One have released their second single of the year, 'COME OVER', co written with DMA's Matt Mason. The track closely follows their most recent single, 'BLOOD RAVE' whose animated music video, created by Serwah Attafuah, turned heads, achieving a nomination for ‘Australian Music Video of the Year’ in the coveted J awards. With the two singles the band are proving not to slow down since their critically acclaimed, 2020 debut album, 'Panic Force' continuing their dominance of the Australian hip hop sphere.

While Triple One have gained notoriety for their brash humour and witty punchlines, 'COME OVER' sees them delve into the deep introspection of their earlier work. Abstract references combine neatly with vast storytelling via their vocal performances, giving fans another reason to latch onto the depths of personality of each individual member

On the sentiment of the track, the band reflects, "a situation where you're stuck in a loop of bad habits in a relationship, and not really being aware of that until it's too late. Ultimately, you have to know when to move on; but we often choose what we want, rather than what's actually good for us."

Sonically, Matt Mason provides a very distinct flare to the track, delivering gleaming, nostalgic guitar riffs that open the track. While the track teases a potential indie cut in its opening, producer Billy Gunns effortlessly fuses the two worlds together, moulding the melodic guitar lines with trap flavoured 808s and glistening synths.

Alongside the single, the band have announced their 'Come Over Tour' which will see them perform across 10 dates in underground venues across Australia. Kicking it off in the nation’s capital, the four-piece will then hit major cities and regional mainstays like Wollongong, Newcastle, Mornington and Geelong, before ending the tour in the tropics of Noosa.
