Stoney Roads definitely knew what they were doing when they picked up SWEETLAND.
The 22 year old producer from Melbourne has made huge waves with his forward-thinking brand of tech-house. He’s got a fresh mind, and I think this is why his music comes off as authentic, original and more so than anything, incredibly creative.
‘Solanum’ is his latest single, and it boasts a soundscape that could make the Grand Canyon feel like a rabbit’s hole.
It’s teeming with life, and filled to the brim with bolts of energy. The gorgeous chime-like synths throughout the final half bring a delicate element to it, one in stark contrast with the rather ambient first portion of the track.
The percussion is on point throughout the track’s entirety, and I must say, it really works well in tying the rest of the sounds together into one, neat ensemble.
SWEETLAND has brought innovation to a new level. The producer is onto a major sound with ‘Solanum’, and it’s a definite forecast that this forward-thinking way of going about music is going to continue to dominate his output.
