Live Review: LISTEN: Sun Araw, M. Geddes Gengras, & The Congos 'Happy Song'

Sun Araw has been working on an album, Icon Give Thank with The Congos and M. Geddes Gengras. So cool!

Last time PURPLE SNEAKERS spoke to Cameron Stallones from SUN ARAW we asked him what he had been up to over the past year. Well here it is! He's been in Jamaica working with the legendary group THE CONGOS and has produced an album with them and M. GEDDES GENGRAS entitled Icon Give Thank.

The album is a mesmerising collection of  noisy and glitchy reggae inspired tracks. The voices of  THE CONGOS give 'Happy Song', in particular, a human element amongst a sea of electronic thuds and bleeps. Stallones twisted and bent guitar sound sits behind the electronic noise and adds amazing depth to the track.

Take a listen to 'Happy Song' and see what you think but I'm warning you, it clocks in at just under seven minutes so prepare yourself for a long ride.
