Brisbane electronic music artists SLOW POKE, who have been recently getting some love from triple J Unearthed, have put out the track 'What They Say'. An addictive deep house tune that has a tantalising mix of atmosphere and beat, this is sure to get the whole dance floor moving.
Starting off with building anticipation thanks to a kick drum, vocal samples and some ultra catchy piano chords before bringing in some lush synths, 'What They Say' is a deep house song that uses its elements to the fullest, creating atmosphere with it's reverb rich synths and samples. Slow Poke have a clear understanding of the genre and have the skill to make such an addicting track.
'What They Say' isn't necessarily over the top with its sound - favouring progression and rich detail over crescendos and bass drops - but the track still manages to include heaps of different synth sounds in its mix. Everything from the more prominent details to little background twinkles, this track has gotten a lot of love by Slow Poke.
This is a standout track for anyone who enjoys deep house and hopefully more will be out soon.
