The track is carried by Sampa's flow, accompanied by a driving rhythm and cool instrumentation. It's one that will no doubt carry well to her live set, in which she performs with a live band. "Everybody's Hero" is an emotional call out to the inability of being everybody's hero, and instead being your own.
The Zambian-born, Botswana-raised emcee now based in Sydney first burst into Australia's hearts in 2015 with her debut release, The Great Mixtape. She then went on to receive mainstream attention supporting Kendrick Lamar on his Australian tour as well as headlining festivals such as Golden Plains, Sugar Mountain, WOMAD and Laneway. She has now proved to be a staple in the Australian hip-hop community and is well known for her collaborations with Remi.
You can catch Sampa the Great and Remi on their Fire Sign tour over the next few months with dates all across Australia.
