Fresh Finds: Class Of 2025 – Aussie Acts To Add To Your Playlist

Live Review: Roleo ‘Driptex’

Driptex’ is the latest from ROLEO, and it’s short, sweet and compact with some gorgeous intergalactic sounds.

It’s always the short and sweet ones that leave you wishing it was 10 minutes long, rather than 2 and a half. I think the most unsatisfying thing is listening to a song, feeling satisfied, and then having to listen to it on repeat for 10 days just to fulfil that unsatisfaction.

It’s an endless cycle we’ve all been thrown into before (think Tame Impala's ‘Disciples’ as one of the more recent ones, or The Vaccines ‘Norgaard’), but ROLEO’s just thrown us one just like this.

You’d probably recognise his name as being one half of the Future Face team over at FBi Radio. ‘Driptex’ is the latest from the producer, and it’s short, sweet and compact with some gorgeous intergalactic sounds.

It’s delicate, glitch and best of all, knows exactly when the beat needs to be a little heavier. However, it’s that end minute that really gets me. There’s a gorgeous almost tropical vibe to the synth that’s in the forefront, and it pairs so well with the glittery galactic soundscape eerily hanging around.

Roleo’s putting this one out through DIE HIGH, and it’s featured on his Purple Island EP, which is out now.
