Live Review: PREMIERE: Recluse Flips MIA On Her Head With 'How Many'

Having made a name for himself by giving 90s bangers a Jersey Club remix, Melbourne producer has had a sonic makeover with this M.I.A flip.

What happens when you take a modern take classic and thrust it into the depths of UK grime? We're not really sure, but we could hazard a guess the hard hitting new track from Melbourne producer RECLUSE might not be too far off the mark. Taking M.I.A's huge hit 'Boyz' and flipping it on its head, Recluse plunges it down deep into dirty grime territory, and doesn't let go for dear life.

Clearly taking some influence from the meteoric rise that grime has seen over the past 12 months, Recluse has shaken things up when it comes to his signature sound. Predominately known for his Jersey Club stylings, this is a far reach from what he's used to. However, it's a very welcome change as well as he tries his hand at bigger, harder, and darker sounds.

Chopping up the original and kicking up the intensity, M.I.A's "na na na na na na na na" will be on a loop in your head for days on end after a listen to this, but so will the racing drums, frenzied hand claps, huge beats and club-inspired breaks and drops.

Practically guaranteed to incite a hedonistic rave on the dancefloor, we could definitely get used to this new Recluse and his grime/industrial rave sounds. Let's hope there is a lot more where this came from!
