Australian electronic trio Pnau release new single 'Solid Gold'. Catchy lyrics and classic sound, featuring Marques Toliver and Kira Divine from 'Chameleon'

While fans are used to waiting up to five years for new music, PNAU is back and better than ever with their newly released single, featuring Kira Divine and Marques Toliver. The first track of 2019 for Nick Littlemore, Peter Mayes and Sam Littlemore seeks to capture the hypnotic rhythm of old disco records and is inspired by the sun-drenched energy of Australia.

‘Solid Gold’ is the newest stuff we’ve heard from the trio since their sensational 2017 record Changa, which featured mega-hits ‘Go Bang’ and ‘Chameleon’, and it does not disappoint.  Incorporating live instruments for a fuller sound, the track draws you in with some strong chords before kicking off a tropical beat, creating what is sure to be a certified banger.

Kira Divine and Marques Toliver worked alongside Pnau in the song writing process, building the sound around the voices of these two collaborators. You may recognise Divine’s voice from tracks like ‘Chameleon’ and ‘Go Bang’, however ‘Solid Gold’ marks their first instance of writing a song from scratch together. Nick Littlemore notes, “With dance music there’s still infinite possibilities creatively, and now that we’ve allowed singers to come in on a collaborative level, it’s more exciting than ever.”

The track features those catchy lyrics that Pnau seem to nail every time and evokes a summery sound that gives off a glistening sheen – almost like solid gold itself.

Exhibiting that classic Pnau sound we know and love, ‘Solid Gold’ also has a wholesome message about it, being “the love of a best friend and being able to depend on people."

Built to soundtrack good times, it’s a banger coming to a dance floor near you.
