Live Review: Osloh 'N/NW'

Having released an EP late last year and currently playing some international shows, Adelaide producer Osloh omit an ambience with their music that not just any artist can achieve.

Having released an EP late last year and currently playing some international shows, Adelaide producer Osloh omit an ambience with their music that not just any artist can achieve. Simplistic in sound yet intricate in production, Osloh was concieved with immense natural talent that is visible in every piece of music produced to date.

‘N/NW’ a track off their recent EP released in July/August 2014, which is simply named EP1, is a down-tempo electronic bliss that secretes an air of nostalgia throughout every second. The third track off the EP and a subtle yet demanding movement of intricately layered bass, piano and synth, the build ups and variation in volume are similar to that of the ocean.

It is the sequences that demonstrate Osloh’s ability to tie in a number of different instruments while keeping an impeccable balance that gives the song so much merit; Its light dreamlike sequences that often feature only simple piano and guitar chord an example of this.

The small variations, sequences and subtly added layers throughout the track show Osloh’s ability to produce a song that differentiates him from similar artists with similar styles, his sound unique, melodic and often free-flowing.

Though Osloh may not have released many new tracks as of 2015, his sincere production and masterful mixing is sure to spread across Australia throughout the year.
