Los Angeles artist ODESSA released her self-titled debut album earlier last year, which showcased track 'I Will Be There'. The song received a heap of attention in the blog world, and despite it's simplicity, the track totally rocked.
It hears the vocals of ODESSA, supported by the occasional back-up male, with a simple yet catchy melody made up from very few instruments. The song hears the repetition of the line, "I will be there, standing by your side", and has a somewhat innocence and honesty to it that you can't help but enjoy.
This track has recently been picked up by London-based trio VAULTS, and has resulted in the transformation of the once stripped-back track, to a fast-paced, dance tune, that you could easily hear in a club.
I'm not going to lie, upon listening to the ODESSA original track, it's hard to believe that this tune could be turned into a dance track. However, it's undeniable that ODESSA's vocals mesh perfectly with the beautifully executed production and lush sounds of VAULTS.

As they describe it, their remix is a "soundscapey, and slightly techy" version of the original track. Layered with the combination of crisp drums and fast-paced, dreamy synths, the song has a definite techno and slightly futuristic feel to it.
VAULTS have clearly been hard at work, releasing their 'Vultures' EP only a couple of months ago. The year 2014 also saw the release of a cover of Alt-J's 'Hunger of the Pine', which is definitely worth checking out!
