UK songstress OBENEWA has released her debut soul grabbing single 'He' under label, Wunderkind.
Under the Kieron McIntosh (Plan B, Paloma Faith) label Wunderkind, Londoner singer/songwriter Obenewa has dropped her first track after many years of keeping quiet. Since the debut of her EP in 2011, it's sadly been a while since we've heard from this RnB diva.
But with her new track 'He' she has bounced back as a sultry and soulful force to be reckoned with. Produced by Walter Ego, McIntosh and Raffertie, the song itself follows a series of back up gigs Obewana had for the likes of Rosie Lowe and Plan B. A bold ballad infused with power lyrics and RnB melodies, with slinky futuristic synths and a finger clicking tempo.
Think the neo-funk groove of Lauren Hill, with the progressive music production and intelligent lyricism of Kelela but all infused with the deep rooted soul of Mary J Blige.
