Dance-pop trio Niterunner have made their return with another shimmering, dreamy cut which we are thrilled to be premiering on Purple Sneakers today. Titled 'Right Direction', it's a glistening, liberating cut of electronic-tinged pop music and represents a real step up for the ever-promising group.
Distilling the freedom that comes with the realisation that you've moved on from something, and you're no longer second-guessing yourself, 'Right Direction' is an empowering but gentle anthem about the discovery of a new sense of self belief. It's an encouraging confirmation that you're on the right track and, when paired with the band's swirling synths, nostalgic beats, bouncing bass, and positively blissful vocals from vocalist Andrea Suesskow, its positive message is inescapable.
The band said of their new single, "Right Direction reflects a moment of déjà vu in a relationship, realising that you have had the same on-again-off-again toxic scenario on repeat. It represents a pivotal moment that you can’t unsee or turn back from when gaslighting and manipulation bubbles to the surface. This song is about no longer second-guessing yourself, regaining your self-confidence and strength to move on."
